Job Summary

E-logic is seeking a specialist to support the Polk County Land Development Division in administering its Floodplain Management Program. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) the Florida Building Code and maintaining the Countys participation in the Community Rating System (CRS).

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the coordination and administration of the Countys Floodplain Management Program to meet FEMA NFIP requirements.
Provide technical expertise to the Building Official and other County staff on the interpretation and application of floodplain management regulations and the County ordinance.
Manage activities related to the Countys FEMA Community Rating System (CRS) Program.
Conduct site visits respond to citizen complaints and document observations related to floodplain management issues.
Participate in public outreach and educational efforts including attending community meetings.
Maintain accurate records and documents for NFIP and CRS compliance.
Assist FEMA and State representatives during Community Assistance Visits (CAV) and CRS Program reviews.

Required Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge and experience with the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and its regulations.
Direct experience with or strong knowledge of the Community Rating System (CRS).
Thorough understanding of the floodplain-related provisions of the Florida Building Code. - Ability to effectively communicate complex regulations to staff community leaders and the public.
