Job Summary

Your new role

As a Project Lead you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering the Peer Cadet Program ensuring that people with lived experience of mental health challenges are supported to successfully engage in study (Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work) and paid employment placements.

Key outcomes for the role:

  • Peer Cadets commencing study within 3 months of employment and completing the program.
  • A structured and supportive work environment that builds workforce readiness confidence and capability for lived experience workers.
  • Strong partnerships and collaboration with internal teams external providers and the Department of Health to ensure program success.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in your application you will possess Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work and/ or Tertiary Qualifications in Psychology Social Work OT Psychiatric Nursing Youth Work or other Allied Health Disciplines.

You will also have:

  • Intentional Peer Support Training - desirable
  • Leadership & Mentorship Ability to supervise guide and inspire Peer Cadets while fostering a supportive inclusive and hope-based peer-led culture.
  • Lived Experience & Empathy Willingness to purposefully use lived experience of mental health recovery to inform the program and support cadets with compassion and understanding.
  • Project Management & Collaboration Skilled in planning implementing and evaluating projects while building strong relationships with stakeholders across organisations.
