Position Overview
Do you want to be a part of a family fun detail and customer-oriented team Antler Services a Davey Tree Company is searching for anON CALL snow shoveler / hand crew technicianfor the upcoming winter season. This is an on call seasonal/contract position expected to last fromNovember 15 to April 15.
As a valuable member of our teamyou will get to end every day seeing the differences you made for our customers and clients. This position involves traveling to client sites in the Brantford area and shoveling snow in a safe and timely addition to shoveling you will also assist with deicing of client properties. This position is paid at$20-25/hourand includes the potential to continue working with our landscape team in the spring!
Job Duties
- Respond promptly to calls for snow and ice events and be available to communicate during and before/after shifts.
- Clear snow from customer sites from designated areas and pile snow in designated and approved locations only.
- Operate vehicles and equipment in a safe responsible and efficient manner.
- Control ice accumulations at jobsites with the safe and responsible use of de-icing agents (salt treated salt liquids or other de-icing chemicals).
- Hand-shovel snow blow or hand-treat site areas as required (walkways doorways fire equipment etc).
- Abide by Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.
- Submit paperwork and documentation promptly at the end of each shift and document and report any obstacles at site(s).
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
Qualifications
- Must be available 24hrs/day 7 days/week at any time a snow or ice event occurs.
- Reliable transportation to 40 Roy Blvd in Brantford
- G Class Drivers License is considered an asset.
- Work outdoors in extreme cold snow and ice conditions on a regular basis.
- Push and lift snow while making repetitive physical movements.
- Work safely near heavy equipment occasionally in a loud environment.
- Ability to follow safe working procedures.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
