Position: Protection & Control Engineer
Location: Bangalore (Offshore Support)
Experience Required: 5 Years in HV/EHV Protection & Control Design
Education: B.E/ in Electrical & Electronics ( in Power Systems optional)
Role Summary
We are looking for a Protection & Control Engineer with strong expertise in HV/EHV substations (132 kV and above). The role involves designing protection and control systems for substations and power plants ensuring safe reliable and efficient operation. You will be responsible for creating protection schemes wiring diagrams interlocking schemes and panel layouts while ensuring compliance with international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop protection & control systems for HV/EHV substations and power plants.
- Prepare technical documents including wiring diagrams SLDs panel layouts cable schedules interlocking schemes and specifications.
- Perform relay coordination studies using simulation tools (e.g. DIgSILENT ETAP).
- Configure and review protection relays BCUs trip relays AVR and other devices.
- Ensure compliance with IEC IEEE and local regulations including IEC 61850 for substation automation and NERC CIP for cybersecurity.
- Provide technical support during FAT/SAT testing and commissioning.
- Collaborate with project managers primary & secondary design engineers and civil teams for seamless integration.
- Prepare technical reports vendor documentation and client approvals.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HV/EHV protection & control system design (132 kV and above).
- Strong knowledge of protection relays bay control units trip relays AVR systems.
- Hands-on with IEC 61850 protocol and substation automation systems.
- Familiarity with IEC61082-1 IEC60617 drawing standards.
- Proficiency in simulation tools (DIgSILENT ETAP PowerFactory).
- Knowledge of UK Grid Codes / European utility standards preferred.
- Experience with FAT SAT testing and commissioning.
- Strong communication report writing and project coordination skills.

- Good communication & report writing.
- Team handling and project management capabilities.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and clients.
