The Strategic Project Officer uPPP provides vital support to the Senior Project Manager in delivering the major precinct renewal initiative for Broadmeadows. The role is responsible for project and contract administration working closely with the lead consultant project partners and stakeholders to ensure milestones and funding requirements are met. With excellent interpersonal and communications skills initiative and organisational skills the position helps drive the effective governance and successful delivery of the Broadmeadows Roadmap.

Provide reporting project management and contract management support aligned with the project management principles the projects governance and grant obligations. This includes performing secretariat responsibilities for the projects Steering Committee.

What youll be doing:

  • Coordinate and track project timelines milestones and deliverables ensuring alignment with the Precinct Roadmap.
  • Assist with contract administration monitoring consultant performance deliverables and compliance with agreed terms.
  • Work closely with the lead consultant to coordinate inputs track milestones and escalate issues to the Senior Project Manager as required.
  • Assist in managing consultant and contractor deliverables reporting progress and risks to the Senior Project Manager.
  • Build collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external stakeholders including government agencies community organisations consultants and precinct partners.
  • Assist with implementation of the communications and engagement plan including preparing collateral facilitating meetings and recording feedback.
  • Provide excellent written and verbal communication ensuring clear timely and accurate information flow.
  • Provide efficient and compliant administrative support to the Senior Project Manager including record keeping budget monitoring and grant reporting.
  • Gather qualitative and quantitative data to support planning monitoring and evaluation.
  • Establish systems and maintain up-to-date project files registers and action logs.
  • Anticipate project requirements and independently progress tasks to support delivery.

The skills and experience youll bring to the role:

  • Strong knowledge of project administration and management processes preferably in local government or complex multi-stakeholder settings.
  • Knowledge of contract administration with the ability to monitor Consultant and Contractor performance against agreed scope budgets and timelines.
  • Specialist skills in providing advice and writing reports briefings and presentations relevant to the position.
  • Analytical skills to gather and interpret data and prepare recommendations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to follow procurement processes in line with allocated budget and individual employee delegations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Well developed skills in managing time setting priorities planning and organising own work and where appropriate that of supervised employees to achieve set objectives efficiently with available resources and agreed timelines.
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate next steps to achieve project objectives.

Required Certifications & Qualifications 

The following qualifications and experience are required for the position:

  • Degree or Diploma in project management planning business administration or community development and some relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in project administration and support in government or complex organisational settings.
  • Experience working with procurement contracts and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to provide high-quality reports communication and stakeholder support.
  • Current drivers licence.
