The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road Woolloongabba Albert Street and Roma Street.

Once complete it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland.

The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with Department of Transport and Main Road. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system.

About the Role

As a Testing and Commissioning Project Manager you will lead the planning coordination and delivery of staged transition activities for key rail operational systems across the Cross River Rail program including control room integration. This role is focused on bringing structure and momentum to complex integration work ensuring readiness decisions are evidence based interfaces are managed and issues are resolved early.

Working across the Lead Integrator environment you will coordinate technical leads and delivery partners to align staging plans sequencing readiness criteria and governance reporting. A key outcome is the establishment and enablement of the Test Command and Control Centre supporting progressive transition activities ahead of end state operations.

This is a hands-on project leadership role suited to someone who can navigate complexity communicate clearly and drive disciplined delivery across multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. This opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract until November 2028 with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a small cross agency team delivering staged system migration and control room integration activities
• Develop and maintain delivery plans schedules readiness criteria and staging documentation for integration activities
• Coordinate inputs across T&C system leads technical specialists operational stakeholders and contractors to support progressive enablement of systems
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement and consultation to confirm requirements readiness and operational interfaces
• Ensure systems engineering assurance and change control inputs are integrated into migration plans and readiness decisions
• Monitor progress and manage risks and issues driving escalation and timely resolution to maintain delivery momentum
• Prepare and present progress updates status reporting and decision inputs for leadership and governance forums
  

• Proven experience delivering multi-discipline rail systems testing and commissioning and/or systems integration programs
• Understanding of and exposure to rail control systems and control room environments. ETCS and ATO integration experience highly regarded.
• Experience in developing staged system migration operational readiness criteria and cutover planning
• Strong capability for leading a small team and engaging with and coordinating complex interfaces across technical leads delivery partners and operational stakeholders
• Practical project management skills across planning scheduling reporting risk and issues management and governance forums
• Clear written and verbal communication skills including the ability to translate technical information for senior audiences
• Highly organised with strong drive and ownership able to multitask in complex environments with shifting priorities
• Relevant engineering degree or trade background with a minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience
