Pay Plan

This opportunity is non-exempt and on Pay Grade #9.The full Pay Grade Range is shown for growth and development opportunities within the grade. Salary determination is supported by budget availability and qualifications of the candidate to maintain internal equity.

Hiring Range:$23.28-$28.51
  • Min:$23.28 ($48423)
  • Mid:$28.51 ($59308)
  • Max:$33.75 ($70193)
Candidate Engagement Plan
  • October 3-19:Accepting Applications Application Material Review and Technical Phone Screenings
  • October 20-24:Selected candidates will be invited to participate in a DISC Assessment and Panel Interview
  • November 3-7:Interview Experience

Eligibility

Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3 years of administrative experience. Experience may be transferable from government legal healthcare education corporate or other settings where confidentiality records management customer service and compliance with policies and procedures were essential.
  • Requires proficiency in operating a personal computer and using word processing spreadsheet and other software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel). Proficiency may be demonstrated through prior administrative clerical data entry customer service or other roles that required accurate use of technology for recordkeeping reporting and communication.
  • Municipal government experience is preferred but not required. Such experience is valuable because it provides familiarity with public records processes regulatory compliance budget procedures and the importance of delivering responsive service in a government setting.
  • Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) clearance is required for continued employment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge
  • Possesses knowledge of City and Police Department policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues including the Texas Open Records Act Texas Penal Code Texas State Library Regulations the Code of Criminal Procedure and other relevant codes and laws.
  • Maintains knowledge of National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) requirements.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Records Management Systems (RMS) citation databases and office technology used for accurate entry retrieval and reporting.
Skills
  • Proficient with RMS NIBRS citation databases and office software applications.
  • Applies strong organizational skills to maintain reference binders employee lists supply resources and administrative records.
  • Communicates clearly courteously and professionally with others in person by tele-phone and in writing.
  • Coordinates and collaborates effectively with City departments external justice system partners and the public while maintaining professionalism.
Abilties
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment and accurate interpretation of City and Police Depart-ment policies and procedures.
  • Ability to learn maintain and apply knowledge of legal issues codes and reporting requirements relevant to police operations.
  • Ability to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive records including juvenile files victim information and law enforcement data.
