Position Highlights

The Washington County Circuit Court in Hillsboro Oregon is hiring an Appeals Coordinator (Court Operations Specialist).

In this role you will receive and process documents related to appeals. You will enter appeals documents into the electronic case register. You will process appellate judgments. You will retrieve electronic recordings of court proceedings and related log notes and will copy the audio records for local transcribers. You will prepare paperwork related to transcripts. You will send appellate filings to the Court of Appeals appellate attorneys parties transcribers judges and clerks offices. You will also prepare trial exhibits and documents to send to the Court of Appeals.

Additionally you will help process civil cases. This work includes processing paperwork reviewing and approving documents filed with the court and assigning case numbers. You will also copy and scan documents process the mail and provide information to the public and our community partners. The support you provide will be in person and over the phone.

You will spend part of your time working on post-conviction relief cases and habeas corpus cases. You will process cases schedule trials prepare court records and complete post-trial recordkeeping.

Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
AND
Four (4) years of responsible administrative experience in a moderately complex office or business setting demonstrating the knowledge skills and abilities needed for the position.

OR

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge skills and abilities for the position.
