Job Summary

Womens Safety Services SA (WSSSA) is a leading South Australian provider of support services for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence.

The SA Domestic and Family Violence Safety Alliance brings together the collective knowledge and experience of National Agreement on Social Housing and Homelessness funded Alliance Participants First Nations people and women and children with lived experience of domestic and family violence. The Alliance recognises the fundamental rights of all people to safety freedom and self-determination and has a special focus on these outcomes for women and their children.

THE ROLE

The Alliance Administrative Officer plays an important role in day-to-day coordination of the Domestic and Family Violence Safety Alliance (DFVSA) providing executive and administrative support to the Alliance Senior Manager and wider Alliance as required developing implementing supporting and managing key processes as required. Ensuring strong communication and collaboration across the state including building relationships with frontline staff and leadership will be key to success in this role.

This role is part of a small central DFVSA team and is an integral part of the Alliances operations supporting smooth functioning as a state-wide collaboration.

Initially offered on a fixed term basis until 30 June 2027 working 37.5 hours per fortnight (0.5FTE) which can be negotiated and worked in a pattern that suits both you and DFVSA business. Employed by Womens Safety Services as the lead agency within the DFVSA Alliance the position is accountable to the Alliance via the Alliance Senior Manager (ASM).

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for this position you will have experience providing administration services preferably in the community services sector.Other key requirements include:

Experience and skills in minute taking and meeting planning;

  • Strong administration skills and a high level of attention to detail;
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building abilities with sound written and verbal communication skills;
  • Highly organised including the ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines;
  • Sound keyboard skills and proficiency in the use of IT social media and communication systems;
  • An eye for continuous improvement and ability to implement more efficient administrative systems;
  • Able to work autonomously with a high level of initiative as well as contribute to a team;
  • Knowledge and awareness of the particular needs of women and children affected by domestic and family violence and a demonstrated empathy for those from diverse backgrounds.
  • A current drivers licence and be eligible for or hold a DHS Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
