Job Description

Pay Grade/Pay Range:Minimum: $44200 - Midpoint: $55300 (Salaried E6)

Department/Organization:200019 - Capstone Center for Student Success

Normal Work Schedule:Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; occasional evenings.

Job Summary:The Undergraduate Research Programs Coordinator assists with the daily administration of the Research Ambassador Program and the Emerging Scholars Program in the Office for Undergraduate Research. Executes and implements curriculum for Emerging Scholars Program an academic program for students involved in undergraduate research. Teaches the courses associated with the Emerging Scholars Program as needed. Travels for recruitment of the Emerging Scholars Program.

Additional Department Summary:The coordinator serves as the supervisor for the OUR Research Ambassador Program and the advisor for the OUR Board of Student Advisory Board. The coordinator serves as the primary contact for the OUR Travel Grants/Awards program and manages all records and communication for the program. Additionally the coordinator manages the recruitment selection and record management of the Emerging Scholars Program. The coordinator has primary oversight for the development and dissemination of all communications from the Office for Undergraduate Research including the weekly newsletter and social media accounts. The coordinator collaborates with the ORED Research Communications department to ensure that all website content is up to date and accessible. The coordinator serves as the student liaison for all large-scale programs hosted by The Office for Undergraduate Research including: the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Conference (URCA) the Faculty Research Showcase and the OUR Paper Writing competition. The coordinator may also serve as an instructor in the Emerging Scholars Program.

Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. drivers license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge:Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and management skills including managing multiple tasks being detail-oriented working independently and adhering to deadlines. Ability to work effectively with students faculty and staff in a collaborative manner. Highly developed interpersonal skills necessary for supervision. Ability to work with a multicultural population of students. Comfort with public speaking and delivering presentations to large groups. Background knowledge in high impact practices in higher education specifically experiential learning practices related to undergraduate research.

Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree in Higher Education Student Affairs or other related field. Experience in teaching undergraduate students. Previous program development program coordination and experience in undergraduate research.
