We operate three schools: Crossroads Academy Central Street (K6) Crossroads Academy Quality Hill (K5) and Crossroads Preparatory Academy (712) as well as community partnerships for pre-kindergarten students. Together our downtown campus is an urban hub for learning leadership and possibility.
The Role:

This is not your typical Superintendent role. As our next leader reporting to the Board of Directors youll have the opportunity to:
- Inherit a healthy high-performing organization and take it to new heights.
- Lead collaboratively with our executive team (3) and central office team (16) all of whom are deeply invested in our mission.
- Champion our students and staff ensuring equity rigor and joy in every classroom.
- Keep student academic outcomes at the center of every decision building on our strong foundation to ensure all students thrive.
- Shape the next strategic plan in partnership with our engaged Board of Directors.
- Deepen and expand partnerships with civic business and philanthropic leaders across Kansas City.
- Drive long-term sustainability including fundraising initiatives and facilities renovations with over $10M in bond funding.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Superintendent reporting to the Board of Directors leading strategic initiatives and executing the board-approved strategic plan.
- Inspire mentor support and manage a high- performing leadership team including the Assistant Superintendent Chief Operations Officer Chief Finance Officer and Development Manager.
- Act as Crossroads chief ambassadorrepresenting us to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education funders media donors sponsors and community partners.
- Ensure high-quality instruction curriculum development and student achievement across all schools.
- Oversee district budgets resources and facilities to ensure fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency while building a culture of equity accountability and continuous improvement.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with students families staff charter school board and community partners.
- Prioritize student and staff belonging through respectful practices and strong school culture.
- Manage complex budgets and resource allocation with regular reporting toward financial and operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations school board policies and accreditation standards.
- Respond effectively to emergencies challenges and sensitive issues impacting students and schools.
- Cultivate a culture of collaboration joy trust and accountability.
RequirementsIdeal Candidate
- A transformational leader with 5 years of progressive leadership in education including roles as Superintendent Executive Director senior administrator and teacher in a charter or public school system preferably both as a school building and central office administrator.
- Demonstrates a deep commitment to the power of urban education and the limitless potential of every child.
- A proactive systems builder with a problem-solving mindset; enjoys tackling complex challenges.
- A strategic leader who can drive the vision create clarity and position Crossroads as a premier charter network.
- An exceptional communicator who builds trust with students families educators funders and civic leaders alike and fosters a collaborative culture.
- A servant leader who centers belonging humility and excellence in everything you do.
- A relationship builder with strong ties to (or eagerness to build ties with) Kansas Citys educational and civic community.
- Proven experience supporting fundraising efforts in partnership with the Development Manager as expected of the head of an organization
- Proven ability to develop and empower leaders within their areas of expertise
- You hold a Missouri Superintendent License (or equivalent) and preferably a Doctorate or Ed.S.

Position Specifications
This is a full-time (42.5 hours) exempt position in the office and school environments. Crossroads Charter Schools is located in the Kansas city downtown area and the schools are walkable. There is occasional travel for conferences.
BenefitsCompensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $150000- $175000. Crossroads Charter Schools offers a robust benefits package including 100% paid insurance plan generous paid time off and opportunities for professional development.
