Are you passionate about building and operating large-scale communication systems Do you thrive on ensuring mission-critical services deliver exceptional performance Amazons Information Technology organization is seeking a Systems Development Engineering Manager to lead our Telephony services team within Amazons Enterprise Engineering group.
Key job responsibilities
Your Mission Should You Choose to Accept It:
- Lead a team of elite Engineers in building operating and optimizing global communication platforms
- Architect and maintain robust scalable telephony and video conferencing infrastructure
- Drive operational excellence through monitoring automation and continuous service improvement
- Oversee system reliability capacity planning and infrastructure lifecycle management
- Champion incident management and resolution processes across multiple technology stacks
A day in the life
Imagine starting your day reviewing low-level designs for an amazing new collaboration service with your team then leading an incident post-mortem to strengthen our service reliability. By afternoon youre collaborating with global stakeholders to optimize our communication infrastructure and ending your day knowing youve enhanced how Amazonians connect and communicate.
About the team
In Enterprise Engineering were not just building tools were crafting the backbone of Amazons global productivity. Your work will directly impact hundreds of thousands of Amazonians across six continents enabling them to collaborate seamlessly and achieve extraordinary results.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field
- 5 years in systems or software engineering
- 3 years managing technical teams
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems
- Strong background in network engineering and infrastructure operations
- Masters degree in related technical field
- AWS certifications and cloud infrastructure expertise
- Experience with VoIP SIP and unified communications platforms
- Track record of implementing ITIL practices and operational frameworks
- Experience with automation tools and infrastructure as code (IaC)
