Job Description

Senior Stakeholder Engagement & Communications Advisor

  • $148113 per annum 12% superannuation
  • Full time (Part time may be considered) fixed term opportunity until 31 March 2027.
  • Wadawurrung / Geelong based role (hybrid work from home 3 days a week in office)

About the opportunity

The purpose of the role is to lead the development and implementation of effective internal and external stakeholder engagement and communications to support the activities of the Legislation Policy and Information Services Division (LPIS) in the review development and implementation of legislative and policy projects. The position plays an important part in ensuring stakeholder engagement encourages participation and feedback from government regulatory union and industry stakeholders to provide the public with confidence in the way Victorian workers compensation health and safety and dangerous goods are managed. Key accountabilities of the role include (but not limited to):

  • Lead develop and advise on the development of any stakeholder engagement and communication plans liaising with internal subject matter experts the project working group members and senior management to implement monitor measure and mitigate any risks in accordance with WorkSafes stakeholder engagement framework.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships particularly employee and employer stakeholders and work collaboratively to identify and understand their views utilising a variety of negotiation presentation communication and education techniques.
  • Provide expert written and verbal advice to WorkSafes Board and Executive Leadership Team LPIS Director External Affairs Executive Director the Insurance Business unit and the Health and Safety Business Unit Executive Directors and other WorkSafe senior managers business partners and staff to identify and manage risks reputational issues and opportunities to ensure the success of any change.
  • Represent WorkSafe at multiple internal and external meetings and forums both within metropolitan and regional areas across Victoria and participate in multi-disciplinary teams composed of legal policy technical and operational expertise to effectively manage stakeholder engagement and communication requirements.

About you

You are a communications professional with at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role developing and managing stakeholder relationships. Your written communication and orgaisational skills are highly developed allowing you to meet tight deadlines and rapidly changing priorities. You are a team oriented person who enjoys mentoring your team members and uplifting capability.
