Whats the role

Were building the future of banking technology at Westpac Institutional Banking (WIB) through the highly strategic Westpac One Core/Treasury project. As a Senior Software Engineer youll play a critical role in designing developing and implementing enterprise-level UI and API-based platforms for our Corporate and Institutional clients.

This is a cloud-native build leveraging modern technologies like TypeScript Redux and (REST APIs) with optional experience in Java and AWS Cloud as a bonus. Were looking for engineers who deliver business value first and foremostthose who can code in any language to achieve outcomes. If youre passionate about writing high-quality performant and secure code with strong test coverage and thrive in a collaborative fast-paced environment this is the role for you.

Youll work alongside Scrum Facilitators Product Owners Lead Engineers and DevOps Specialists to deliver industry-leading solutions. This is a multi-year transformation program offering the chance to shape the future of banking technology while building a strong engineering capability within WIB.

What do I need

Knowledge:

• Strong background inUI and API development
• Deep technical expertise across modern development frameworks

Experience:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven experience developing and implementingUIs & APIs that meet project objectives
• Prior experience insolution design across multiple programs
• Background insoftware development andagile methodologies
• Hands-on experience withcomplex solution designs and implementation phases
• Experience designing or implementingcredit decisioning application integration patterns
• Extensive experience inapplication integration on complex infrastructures ideally infinancial services or banking
• Minimum5 years experience in a similar role

Education:

• Degree inInformation Technology orComputer Science
• Banking experience highly regarded
