Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery improvement research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026 Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service Peninsula Health Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health a newly merged health service with more than 22000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce providing new training education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026 all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.
Department Summary
Alfred Health and Monash Health have established a formal partnership to deliver a Shared Pathology Service as one of three new pathology networks for metropolitan Melbourne. All roles in the Pathology Programs are working to develop the Partnership and ensure we continue to provide high quality care for the patients across the health services. Alfred Pathology Service (APS) provides a comprehensive range of pathology testing consultation services and collection services to clinicians and patients of Alfred Health. The Service has 5 units (Anatomical Pathology Clinical Biochemistry Haematology and Microbiology Human Molecular Pathology) each headed by a Unit Head. APS has the core laboratory at The Alfred as well as a small local laboratory at Sandringham hospital. APS has several collection centres and is responsible for specimen collection of about 50% of its samples.
Position Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated Administration officer based within Anatomical Pathology who is responsible the organisation and administration duties including personal assistance to the Unit Director. The role supports the function of the Anatomical Pathology Unit by performing a range of tasks including providing reception duties telephone enquiries and multidisciplinary meeting coordination.
