With technology evolving rapidly NL Engineering Enablement aims to be the enabler for Tech NL focusing on SRE project delivery and overarching initiatives.

The team

The Project Managers within NL Engineering Enablement lead the project management community helping teams synergise globally increasing awareness of best practices and capabilities and supporting the elimination of dependencies through effective project delivery. We gather challenges from squads in TechNL identify potential solutions and contribute them to Nextgentech and GEP. We are also actively working on knowledge sharing and engineering culture (Mastery days etc.) and growing practices to increase awareness of project management tools and capabilities. Operational management of critical project environments and governance of project data are also key responsibilities.

To improve project delivery quality across the development lifecycle we provide or adapt methodologies and automation solutions. For Tech DBNL reliability and availability are critical and the Project Managers of NL Engineering Enablement play an important role in ensuring successful project outcomes.

Roles and responsibilities

Are you attracted by the challenges described above As our new Chapter Lead Project Manager you will be HR responsible for 5 project managers including one Green IT project manager. You will coach them and help them grow as professionals. You will also be the spokesperson for the chapter and the point of contact for (senior) managementthis will take approximately 40% of your time. For the remaining 60% you will work as a Senior Expert Project Manager aligning with senior IT management (CLs IT(A)Ls and CIO) regularly participating in Nextgentech and stakeholder meetings and engaging in technical and strategic discussions with our teams.

We believe in hands-on leadership: rather than dictating what squads should do we work alongside them to understand their challenges and enable their success. When squads encounter issues that impact progress on key initiatives they may come to you for help. You dont always have to solve it yourself but you will take ownership involve the right people and ensure the issue is resolved. You will own one or more initiatives/topics and be a trusted partner to our IT Leads on those topics.

  • Experience managing a team as a chapter lead or similar leadership role.
  • A strong background in project management with a deep understanding of best practices for delivering projects at ING and familiarity with our architecture.
  • Ideally several years experience as a project manager at ING with exposure to multiple IT domains and a strong internal network.
  • Experience with project delivery including environment and data management risk and issue management and stakeholder engagement.
  • A clear understanding of project management methodologies and the ability to adapt them to varied project concerns.
