The Mathematics Department in the Meditz College of Arts and Sciences at Fairfield University invites applications for two tenure track positions in Mathematics at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in September 2026 pending final budget approval. We seek highly qualified candidates with a PhD in Mathematics Statistics or closely related field. One position will have research interests in applied statistics while the other position will have research interests in one of the following: discrete mathematics with computational applications financial mathematics or actuarial science. The position will require teaching at the undergraduate and graduate (Masters) level.
Requirements:
Applicants are expected to have completed a Ph.D. in Mathematics Statistics or a closely related field. One position will have research interests in applied statistics; the other position will have research interests in discrete mathematics with computational applications financial mathematics or actuarial science. Demonstrated excellence in teaching is essential as well as strong evidence of research potential. A commitment to pedagogical innovation and demonstrated excellence in using technology in the classroom is required.

Additional Information:
The Mathematics Department is an active and collegial group of 24 full-time faculty members. The teaching load for this position is 3 courses (9 credit hours) per semester and consists of courses at the undergraduate and graduate (Masters) level. Class sizes are small and there are many opportunities for professional development. The Masters program is an evening program and attracts a wide variety of students - secondary school teachers eventual Ph.D. candidates and people working in industry or business.
