Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) is the nations leading voice on exercise and sports science. We govern and represent approximately 10000 degree-qualified accredited exercise professionals who support Australians to reach their health and performance goals.

At ESSA youll join a team dedicated to supporting our members and the communities they serve. Together youll have the opportunity to demonstrate your passion and expertise to make a positive impact on the work of accredited exercise professionals.

What were looking for:

Council/Committee/Working Group Operations

  • Manage and coordinate ESSAs regulatory councils committees and working groups including:
  1. Accreditation Council
  2. Standards Council
  3. Course Accreditation Committee
  4. Ethics & Integrity Council
  • Strengthen governance structures and frameworks for all decision-making bodies within ESSA ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to best practices.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline decision-making processes and improve efficiency across councils and committees.

Regulations Governance

  • Provide high-level executive support to the Regulations Manager and timely documents to the Regulations Manager and Council ensuring alignment with governance frameworks.
  • Align governance activities with ESSAs strategic objectives providing guidance on ethical considerations compliance and decision-making processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations by managing governance- related risks and implementing solutions to mitigate them.
  • Prepare governance reports manage board and council documentation and provide expert guidance on best governance practices.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Oversee the coordination of Accreditation Standards and Ethics and Integrity Councils and their committees/working group meetings.
  • Develop maintain and foster effective networks relationships and partnerships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to support regulations governance objectives.
  • Enhance member trust through transparent and accountable governance practices fostering confidence in ESSAs leadership and decision-making.
