Job Summary:
The Asset Manager supports the companys fleet of vehicles and equipment ensuring efficiency compliance and cost-effective management. Responsibilities include procurement disposal budgeting claims management and lifecycle tracking to maximize asset value.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier and Contract Management
- Negotiate with dealerships manufacturers and service providers to secure favorable pricing and service terms. - Maintain and evaluate supplier relationships to ensure quality reliability and cost efficiency.
Strategic Fleet Lifecycle Management
- Plan and implement strategies for acquiring renewing and disposing of fleet assets based on usage and growth needs. - Oversee the fleet budget focusing on cost-effective acquisitions and disposals. - Coordinate asset sales salvage or recycling with proper documentation and compliance with company and environmental standards.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation laws safety standards and company policies. - Manage vehicle titles tolls and registrations ensuring documentation is current and violations are resolved promptly. - Develop and enforce fleet operation policies to optimize safety and efficiency. - Collaborate with leadership to maintain accurate asset inventories and schedules.
Strategic Performance Monitoring
- Track key metrics such as utilization ROI and operating efficiency. - Conduct periodic audits of capital assets maintaining accurate records and reporting results to leadership. - Identify and implement process improvements including systems for asset tracking and inventory control. - Develop and apply strategies to reduce fuel costs and improve efficiency.
Property Damage and Claims Management
- Serve as the point of contact for property damage claims involving company assets. - Document incidents file insurance claims and work with providers to ensure timely resolution. - Coordinate repairs replacements or settlements to minimize operational disruptions. - Maintain accurate records of claims and provide regular updates to leadership. - Recommend preventive measures to reduce claim frequency and costs.
- Assist in resolving any company citations.
Competencies:
Extensive knowledge and understanding of fleet management and operations.
Loss Control experience with an emphasis on inventory tracking.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prepare analysis to reduce expenses.
Proficient with computers & tracking software
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely fashion.
Education and Experience
Minimum of five years experience in fleet & inventory management
Knowledge of fleet repair a plus
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus!
