PURPOSE OF JOB |
We are seeking a skilled and proactive MS SQL Server Database Administrator responsible for the setup configuration maintenance and performance tuning of new or existing SQL Server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure database reliability security and availability while supporting internal teams and business-critical applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Install and configure new or rebuild existing SQL Server instances per company standards and project/operational requirements.
- Develop document and maintain SQL Server installation and configuration procedures.
- Perform daily database and system monitoring to ensure availability performance and integrity of all database systems and related resources.
- Review SQL Server logs and scheduled job executions including backups maintenance tasks and application jobs.
- Execute backup and restore operations; manage media rotation and off-site transfers as needed.
- Manage user access by creating modifying and deleting database accounts; perform periodic audits of access rights.
- Monitor and manage SQL Agent Jobs and perform maintenance activities (e.g. re-indexing shrinking) in coordination with application teams.
- Provide Level 2 support to resolve incidents related to performance reliability and configuration; use tools like SQL Profiler DTA and PerfMon.
- Configure and troubleshoot high availability and disaster recovery (HADR) solutions including Log Shipping Replication Mirroring and Clustering.
- Perform database recovery in the event of system failures and coordinate with stakeholders throughout the process.
- Apply patches and service packs; upgrade SQL Server instances and related administrative tools as needed.
- Integrate and manage SSIS (Integration Services) and SSRS (Reporting Services) solutions.
- Perform SQL Server upgrades and migrations.
- (Optional) Leverage knowledge of IIS -based applications for improved issue resolution.
- Maintain and update operational documentation and configuration records.
- Generate performance and health reports to support capacity planning and resource optimization.
- Conduct SQL performance tuning and manage system resource allocations (CPU memory storage).
- Adhere to change management protocols and document all configuration or infrastructure changes.
- Prepare and submit Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for Severity 1 and 2 incidents.

QUALIFICATION/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE |
- Work Location Airoli Navi Mumbai
- Qualification - Any academic degree or diploma
- 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience MS SQL database server administration
- Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA with hands-on knowledge of SQL Server 2016/2019 and above.
- Strong understanding of backup/restore strategies disaster recovery and high availability configurations.
- Expertise in performance tuning query optimization and resource management.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance analysis utilities.
- Solid experience with SSIS and SSRS.
- Knowledge of change management and ITIL processes.
- Excellent problem-solving communication and documentation skills.
