Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to oversee a fast-paced 3-rig oil drilling programlocated in Bakersfield California. The project involves drilling one well every two days requiring expert coordination scheduling and execution.
The ideal candidate will have a proven background in Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and a strong track record in oilfield project delivery. You will be responsible for driving performance ensuring safety compliance and coordinating cross-functional teams to maintain the aggressive drilling schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead planning and execution of a 3-rig drilling program ensuring one well is drilled every two days.
- Implement and manage Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) strategies to optimize construction drilling and logistics workflows.
- Coordinate with drilling engineers rig managers HSE personnel and third-party contractors.
- Oversee scheduling budgeting and resource allocation for all phases of drilling operations.
- Track project KPIs identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions in real-time.
- Ensure all operations comply with company policies regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Manage daily reporting progress tracking and interface management between field and office teams.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure alignment with project execution plans.
- Facilitate project meetings briefings and stakeholder updates.
- Proactively manage risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 7 10 years of experience in oil & gas project management with at least 3 years in drilling operations.
- Demonstrated experience with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and field-level execution planning.
- Strong knowledge of drilling operations rig logistics and well planning.
- Excellent leadership communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-intensity environment.
- Familiarity with California oilfield regulations and safety standards is a plus.
- PMP certification or similar project management credentials is a plus.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Project Duration: Estimated 3 6 months with potential for extension.
- Schedule: Full-time with field presence in Bakersfield CA required.
