This role emphasizes deep technical expertise and strategic problem-solving enabling breakthrough advances in patient care without relying on traditional management layers. Responsibilities Skills & Hands-On Experience: - Serve as the technical authority for the design architecture and integration of advanced medical imaging platforms.
- Define and execute long-term technology roadmaps that align with company objectives and clinical needs.
- Drive system-level innovation across imaging algorithms visualization tools AI/ML integration and cloud-based solutions.
- Lead high-level trade-off analyses and risk assessments to inform strategic design decisions.
- Collaborate with R&D clinical regulatory and manufacturing leaders to ensure solutions are scalable manufacturable and compliant with FDA ISO 13485 and other standards.
- Establish best practices for system verification validation and cybersecurity within imaging platforms.
- Mentor and elevate engineers across the organization fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Build and manage partnerships with academic collaborators vendors and external technology partners.
- Represent Shifamed as a thought leader through patents publications and conference presentations.
Education & Work Experience: - Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Biomedical Engineering Computer Science or related field (advanced degree strongly preferred).
- 12 years of experience in medical imaging system design with a track record of leading complex programs from concept to regulatory clearance.
- Deep expertise in imaging modalities (e.g. X-ray MRI ultrasound) and advanced image processing algorithms.
- Proficiency in relevant software and system development tools (e.g. MATLAB Python C VTK Qt/QML).
- Proven experience architecting on-prem as well as cloud-based imaging solutions and integrating AI/ML methods for computer vision and diagnostic applications.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and quality frameworks (e.g. FDA ISO 13485 IEC 60601) including cybersecurity best practices.
- Demonstrated record of innovation evidenced by patents publications or recognized industry contributions.
- Exceptional communication leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to align multidisciplinary teams around a shared technical vision.
- Success thriving in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
Our salary ranges are calculated by role level and location.
