This contract position is an on-site role that provides an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
As a Locum MD in Cardiothoracic Surgery you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care performing surgical procedures and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Your expertise will play a crucial role in advancing the quality of care within our healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures with precision and expertise
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and consultations
- Collaborate with surgical teams and support staff
- Monitor patient progress and provide post-operative care
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Stay current with advancements in cardiothoracic surgery
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior medical staff
Requirements
- MD degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Active medical license in the state of practice
- Previous experience in a cardiothoracic surgery setting preferred
- Strong surgical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice
Schedule: 24-hour call shifts (7a-7a) specific dates
Daily Volume: 1-2 surgeries
Case Types: Bypass mitral valves aortic valves pericardial windows tricuspid valves etc.
Support Staff: NP
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
