JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Electrical & Control Techn/Technologist Trainee.
Reporting to the Trades Management Supervisor this position is responsible for maintaining and overhauling all electrical electronic control protection and telecommunications associated with generating stations and facilities.

*Relevant Field of Education includes Instrumentation Tech/Technologist; ElectricalTech/Technologist; Electronics Tech/Technologist; Electromechanical Engineering Technology.
Candidates will be required to successfully complete aptitude testing in order to proceed in the selection process.
All Trainees are required to register with Skill Trades Ontario. The completion of the C of A and C of Q is the sole responsibility of the Trainee. Failure to complete the C of A and C of Q will have no impact on employment with OPG.
This position requires travel and occasional overnight stays in order to attend and complete various training courses and field assignments during their training program and to acquire on-the-job experience at other OPG work locations.

The base salary range considers many factors including but not limited to experience education and training including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
