Department
The Fixed Income Client Portfolio Management (FI CPM) team is part of the Investments department at Robeco. The teams main responsibility is to grow Robecos fixed income business. They do this by presenting Robecos fixed income strategies to the full range of client types and providing content for sales and marketing teams. The FI CPM team is involved in every stage of the commercial process for both wholesale and institutional clients globally. The team has five Client Portfolio Managers based in Rotterdam and London and three Investment Specialists based in Rotterdam.
Position & Requirements
As a Client Portfolio Manager Credits High Yield your responsibility is grow Robecos fixed income business by providing detailed insights into Robecos fixed income investment strategies with a focus on credits in the sales and retention process. Together with Sales you are responsible for presentations to existing and potential clients or distribution partners including investment consultants. This includes online and face to face meetings with professional investors as well as presentations ranging from small to large addition you will provide relevant written product- and market commentaries on the capabilities you cover. You will also enhance materials for commercial use where possible. Moreover you will handle incoming questions and requests including reviewing RFPs. Educating and informing the sales force on relevant developments within fixed income markets is also your responsibility. We are looking for someone who will work alongside the senior CPM who currently focuses on high yield credits.
Close cooperation with the Portfolio Management team and other Client Portfolio Managers is essential. We are currently looking for a Client Portfolio Manager that will be stationed in Rotterdam. International travel is an important part of this position.
Requirements
You have a university degree preferably in an economic discipline and at least five to eight years of relevant working experience in the financial service industry. Experience in and a solid knowledge of fundamental fixed income investing is required. Preferably you have worked as a strategist fund selector or (client) portfolio manager-/analyst (or similar role) in a commercial asset management company or pension fund. It is essential to have commercial drive willingness to acquire deep investment expertise and to be able to present your specialist knowledge in a convincing way. You cope with structuring prioritizing and working under pressure very well. Also you are comfortable in challenging situations. Affinity with sustainability is a necessity. It goes without saying that you have an excellent command of English. Good command of a second language such as French German or Spanish is a plus.
CPM Responsibilities
Serve as the subject matter expert on Robecos fixed income solutions with a focus on credits internally and externally
Develop a strong partnership with the portfolio management teams in order to be a credible and highly effective PM substitute serving as the product expert to other CPMs distribution and marketing
Develop marketing and educational materials including servicing presentations monthly commentaries quarterly investor reports white papers and other materials for publication.
Interact with investors and their advisors including investment consultants to identify and assess investment needs and recommend suitable investment strategies and solutions.
Identify demand for new products; develop position and support those products.
Partner with other client-facing Robeco professionals to service and grow our fixed income business globally.
Position Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in asset management or sell-side industry in an investment role and a university degree.
CFA or equivalent accreditation is preferred.
Preferably you have worked as a strategist fund selector or (client) portfolio manager-/analyst (or similar role) in a commercial asset management company or pension fund.
Willingness to build a robust understanding of the credits asset class.
Entrepreneurial drive to build a business coupled with the ability to be a cooperative team player.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Aptitude for public speaking in both formal and informal settings in front of a variety of types and sizes of audiences.
