Job Summary

Job Title: Intern - IT Infrastructure
Location: Infomate Head Office Colombo 01
Shift: 8.30 am - 5.00 pm
Job Responsibilities
- Configure and deploy laptops desktops and mobile devices for new users.
- Install and update software and set up user accounts and access permissions.
- Maintain accurate records of device assignments and inventory.
- Monitor and troubleshoot basic network issues (LAN Wi-Fi).
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure stable connectivity.
- Manage user access to shared resources and tools (e.g. printers shared drives).
- Communicate with vendors regarding device deliveries warranty claims and routine servicing.
- Follow up on service tickets and provide timely updates to the IT team.
- Provide first-level support to staff for hardware or connectivity issues under supervision.
- Assist with routine device health checks and compliance tracking (antivirus updates etc.).
- Maintain accurate documentation of tasks and support provided.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware operating systems and network concepts.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Office 365 and basic networking tools is an added advantage.
