We are looking for Deputy Manager Commercial/Branch Manager with a leading shipping company for Chennai location
Experience - Min. 10 Years
Qualification - Graduate / Post Graduate
Age - Below 46 Years
Role Overview

The Sales Manager will oversee and grow the shipping container business for the South region driving revenue growth and achieving business objectives. This role requires a dynamic self-motivated individual with strong customer orientation excellent networking skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with sales teams and other departments. The ideal candidate will also act as an individual contributor (IC) and be willing to travel extensively.

Job Description Sales & Business Development:
  • Proactively search and develop a new customer base while nurturing existing relationships.
  • Conduct sales calls with both prospective and current customers.
  • Establish strong multi-level relationships with key customers to enhance business support.
  • Increase support from existing customers and acquire new customers to meet/exceed volume and revenue targets.
  • Achieve monthly/annual volume and revenue targets.
Customer Engagement & Market Insights:
  • Consistently achieve weekly sales call targets and maintain a robust future volume pipeline.
  • Set up meetings with prospective clients to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions.
  • Provide regular updates to trade/commercial teams on market rates and trends to ensure sustained business growth.
  • Conduct credit assessments for both existing and new customers.
Operations & Revenue Management:
  • Ensure timely updates of all sales activities in the CRM system.
  • Follow up with customers for payment collections within approved credit terms.
  • Work closely with the customer service team to manage outstanding payments and waiver requests.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and rate filings while ensuring a healthy conversion ratio.
Performance Monitoring & Feedback:
  • Conduct weekly debrief sessions with the management team to share market feedback and customer requirements.
  • Continuously monitor and report on sales performance metrics.
