Job Summary

Your Role as Central Product Owner

As the Central Product Owner (CPO) for our CDD Digital Journey you are responsible for driving the digital transformation within our WB Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) domain. We are evolving the Customer Due Diligence (CDD) process from manual to meaningful. While focusing on developing our employee workflow solution we are also committed to fully digitizing the CDD outcomes and leveraging AI to assist in automating the daily repetitive tasks we currently face. Additionally we ensure that our end-clients are supported in a fully digital manner to maximize client satisfaction and minimize client effort.

As a CPO within the FCP domain you are at the heart of this change and responsible for managing our capability-oriented team setup. You bridge the gap between business needs and delivery teams balancing innovation operational impact and employee/client centricity.

You proactively anticipate dependencies and collaborate across Wholesale Banking tribes countries and other ING organizations to design a seamless user experience across products countries and channels. Your detailed roadmap guides our stakeholders and your excellent communication skills ensure everyone knows what to expect.

You manage and prioritize the product backlog using data-informed decision-making working closely with the Change Board and other governance bodies to ensure high-value delivery. As a key liaison across the FCP teams and delivery tribes you ensure transparency alignment and engagement throughout the change lifecycle.

Additionally you oversee first- and second-line incident resolution ensuring stability and responsiveness across the digital product landscape. You take ownership of risk management and maintain a strong focus on IT governance and controls.

In the Workflow journey you are at the heart of our CDD processcovering both onboarding and periodic reviews. Your focus is on designing and delivering efficient employee-centric PEGA workflows that support the full end-to-end Customer Due Diligence (CDD) process. You work closely with analysts process experts and KYC leads to identify challenges and co-create smart scalable solutions that improve efficiency without compromising the effectiveness of our controls. You understand that stable efficient and well-running operations are criticaland you act accordingly.

Collaboration is key: you align with IT for delivery KYCO for embedding risk assessment and with operations and compliance to ensure smooth implementation and adoption. You take ownership of workflow performancemeasuring impact identifying opportunities and proactively addressing issues before they affect operations.

You design modular automation-ready workflows identifying where repetitive tasks or decisions can be supported by AI or automationwhile maintaining appropriate human oversight. Your workflows comply with regulatory requirements and offer full audit traceability.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Design

  • Define and improve employee-centric CDD workflowsfrom onboarding to risk scoring and reviewsfocusing on digitalization UX and regulatory alignment.
  • Maintain and develop the Q6 product roadmap to deliver long-term business value and operational impact ensuring that business value is validated post-delivery to measure impact effectively.
  • Collaborate with IT KYCO operations and compliance for seamless integration and adoption.
  • Design modular automation-ready workflows that balance AI efficiency with human oversight.
  • Monitor and optimize workflow performance embedding auditability and controls throughout.

Governance

  • Provide input and participate in the regular QBR review cycle where progress is monitored planning is communicated and priorities are set.
  • You provide bi-weekly updates into the FCP change board to inform all relevant stakeholders and prepare clear decision and information requests when needed.
  • With your colleague CPOs you ensure that dependencies between the teams are actively managed and you inform transparently on any impediments you foresee.
  • Collaborate with architecture and platform teams to ensure workflow solutions align with enterprise standards and governance frameworks.

Backlog Ownership & Prioritization

  • Own and manage the product backlog ensuring features enhancements and fixes are prioritized based on business value and user needs.
  • Maintain high-quality actionable backlog items to guide development teams effectively.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the central point of contact for the products change journey maintaining strong alignment with business Tech compliance and other key stakeholders.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement ensuring clarity around the product vision priorities and delivery expectations.
  • Engage closely with operational teams users and global process leads to gather feedback and ensure the workflow design meets real-world needs.

Incident & Issue Management

  • Develop and maintain real-time dashboards and reports to track KPIs monitor user metrics ensure traceability and support exception handling for operational performance
  • Manage first- and second-line incidents related to the product coordinating resolution and ensuring root causes are addressed through product improvements.
  • Maintain product stability and responsiveness across the change lifecycle.
  • Monitor performance and incident trends to proactively identify areas for improvement and automation.

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure all product changes and evolutions comply with regulatory and risk requirements. You ensure mandatory risk management activities are performed and evidence is provided when needed.
  • Proactively assess and mitigate risks during the design and delivery phases embedding compliance into the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure that configurations and changes are fully auditable traceable and compliant with KYC/CDD regulatory standards.

As a Central Product Owner you will need:

  • AMasters degreeor equivalent academic background supported by relevant practical experience.
  • At least5 years of experience in Wholesale Banking gained in either front office (Business) Digital or back office (IT/Operations).
  • A minimum of5 years of relevant product development experience ideally in PEGA Workflow Customer Experience Software Development or IT-driven environments.
  • A strong track record indriving and implementing change with a focus on improving end-to-end processes.
  • Experience working inAgile environments with a solid understanding of product ownership and delivery cycles.
  • The ability to operate effectively inmulticultural and cross-functional settings.
  • Fluent in English speaking and in writing.
