Are you an experienced Senior Project Manager with a passion for delivering complex IT projects on time within budget and to the highest standards
An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic Senior Project Manager to join a leading organisation within their technology division. This role is ideal for a Cape Town-based professional with a strong background in software development and a proven track record in leading full lifecycle IT projects.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning execution and delivery of high-impact technology projects working closely with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project plans including scope timelines budgets and resource allocation
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects successfully and on schedule
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders managing expectations and reporting progress
- Identify and mitigate risks to ensure project objectives are achieved
- Manage budgets ensuring cost-efficiency and adherence to financial targets
- Champion quality assurance across all project deliverables
- Foster a collaborative and performance-driven team environment
- Drive continuous improvement through post-project reviews and knowledge sharing
Requirements:
- A relevant IT Degree or Diploma
- A recognised project management certification (PMP or equivalent)
- Minimum 10 years in the IT industry with at least 5 years in software development
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and project management methodologies
- Proven experience working in Agile and Scrum environments
- Financial Services or Insurance industry experience is highly advantageous
- Strong leadership communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency with JIRA Confluence and MS Office
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
