IT Software Engineer - Finance
Location: Pune India
Job Summary:
At Zendesk we in IT along with our business partners are on a mission to revolutionize the way finance operations connect with technology. As we expand our engineering team in Pune we are looking for a talented and motivated IT Software Engineer with a strong focus on finance value streams. If you are passionate about transforming record-to-report and source-to-pay processes through innovative technology solutions and integrations we want to hear from you!
Who Were Looking For
We are seeking an IT Software Engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is dedicated to optimizing value streams across finance operations. You should possess a strong technical background with a keen interest in understanding business partner requirements and the underlying fundamentals that drive finance. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in software development integrations implementations agile methodologies quality practices and testing automation with an emphasis on integrations and application stack transformations using ERP solutions like NetSuite and other SaaS financial applications including Blackline and LevelPath. The ideal candidate will have experience in ERP replatform initiatives.
What Youll Be Doing
As an IT Software Engineer focused on Finance Value Streams you will:
Transform Application Stacks: Drive application stack transformations to improve the overall efficiency scalability and responsiveness of finance systems leveraging your strong technical skills.
Design and Develop Integrations: Create and implement integration solutions that enhance the flow of information among various finance applications ensuring seamless record-to-report and source-to-pay processes.
Implement Quality Practices: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define and enforce quality assurance practices ensuring that software requirements are met and aligned with business goals.
Automate Testing Processes: Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure comprehensive coverage of integrations and applications employing testing frameworks and tools to enhance quality assurance efforts.
Conduct Exploratory and Manual Testing: Execute exploratory and manual testing to validate complex functionalities and document results ensuring a thorough evaluation of software performance.
Engage in Agile Practices: Actively participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and retrospectives to contribute to continuous improvement in development processes and team dynamics.
Leverage AI Tools: Employ AI-driven development tools and methodologies to improve programming productivity and enhance configuration tasks.
Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with finance stakeholders and team members clearly articulating technical concepts to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.

What You Bring to the Role
To be successful in this role you should have:
Technical Proficiency: A minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on programming particularly in languages such as Java Python or JavaScript which are essential for developing integrations and automation scripts. Strong knowledge of APIs. Knowledge of security best practices related to financial systems.
Hands-on experience with at least some of the following: NetSuite Coupa Brex Cforia Celigo (or similar iPaaS tools) Adaptive Insights BlackLine with a focus on finance processes including record-to-report and source-to-pay. Understanding of finance and accounting processes and terminology.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Quality Assurance Knowledge: Solid understanding of quality assurance methodologies and testing automation frameworks with practical experience in implementing these within software development.
Agile Methodology Experience: Demonstrated experience in utilizing agile frameworks and practices to enhance development processes and increase team effectiveness.
Analytical Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving mindset capable of identifying root causes and deriving effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Effective Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills allowing you to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
Team Collaboration: A team-oriented attitude that fosters collaboration and mutual respect among team members while contributing to a vibrant workplace culture.

Hybrid: In this role our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection collaboration learning and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
