Job Summary | **Internal Candidates Only** Attention current RPI Employees! The Division of Finance seeks internal candidates to serve as the next Director or Associate Director of Budget Operations. This position plays a critical leadership role in managing the day-to-day operations of the budgeting function. The Director or Associate Director assists in the planning development and execution of operating and capital budgets monitors financial performance supports strategic financial initiatives and ensures compliance with institutional policies and government regulations. |
Minimum Requirements | The selected candidate will be appointed as either an Associate Director or Director depending on experience. The Division of Finance at RPI is excited to seek a current RPI employee with the following qualifications: Candidates at either level must have - Bachelors Degree in Finance Accounting Public Administration Economics or related field
- Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in budgeting finance or a related area
- Strong knowledge of budgetary principles financial reporting and data analysis
- Financial modeling skills using standard industry software and excellent MS Excel skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
To be considered for this position at the Director level candidate must meet the qualifications above and have an additional three (3) or more years of experience that includes - Strategic budgeting and capital planning
- Public sector or higher education budgeting experience
- Extensive experience with ERP systems and related reporting (such as workday oracle SAP etc.)
Applicants must meet stated minimum education and experience requirements. |
Preferred Qualifications | - Masters Degree (MBA MPA) in related field
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Workday Oracle SAP)
- Public sector or higher education budgeting experience.
