Job Title: Sizer Operator
Pay Rate: $17- $20/hr.
Shift: 2nd (4pm)
Benefits: Medical Dental AD&D
Job Summary:
The Sizer Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the sizer equipment to ensure smooth and efficient production. This role ensures that all equipment is functioning properly production runs are set up accurately and quality and safety standards are consistently met. The Sizer Operator will also communicate with team members to ensure packing instructions are followed and production goals are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Start up and operate sizer equipment ensuring all systems are working correctly.
- Inspect and maintain water nozzles wax systems washers elevators solenoids and annunciators.
- Check for and replace missing or damaged cups wheels and chains on the sizer.
- Clean sizer scales and ensure accurate calibration.
- Write and update daily run lists.
- Verify and follow packing instructions including lot and pallet/bin counts.
- Communicate with stock and tally teams regarding production needs.
- Ensure stickers labels and trays are correctly applied and that fruit meets specifications (RPC Costco bags clams).
- Double-check lots before running production to avoid errors.
- Monitor and check graders and culls for accuracy.
- Keep detailed records of production output.
- Perform quality checks to ensure consistent weight fruit fit and packaging requirements.
- Count and oversee packers assigned to the line.
- Report any mechanical issues or irregularities to supervisors.
- Maintain a safe clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a production or packing facility preferred.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with tally stock and packing staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Basic reading writing and math skills required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Frequent bending lifting and reaching (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work in a production environment that may be noisy wet or require exposure to varying temperatures.
