Position Overview
Were on the hunt for a driven versatile Sales Leader to helm our sales operationsspanning new and used vehicle sales floor leadership and overall sales management. This role is perfect for someone who combines hands-on coaching big-picture strategy and a deep commitment to top-tier customer experiences. Youll inspire our team to hit ambitious goals grow our customer base and safeguard the values that make us Smith Auto Family.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Performance Management
- Set monitor and exceed sales targets (new used units gross CSI).
- Manage daily and monthly sales operationspivoting quickly when market conditions change.
- Partner with the General Manager to shape promotions pricing and marketing strategies.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit train coach and mentor sales consultantsdevelop a high-performing team focused on results.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and 1:1 coaching sessions.
- Lead with energy: embody a culture of collaboration accountability positivity and success.
Customer Experience & Floor Management
- Deliver hands-on leadership on the sales floor: merchandising flow customer interactions and team visibility.
- Engage with customers to build trust drive repeat/referral business and elevate our dealerships reputation.
- Actively resolve escalations to ensure satisfaction and retention.
Inventory & Financial Oversight
- Coordinate with purchasing and marketing to maintain the right inventory mix turning vehicles efficiently while protecting margins.
- Oversee pricing strategiesstriking the balance between profitability and value for our customers.
Administrative & Compliance Functions
- Prepare and present performance reports (daily weekly monthly) to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies manufacturer guidelines and regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven automotive sales leadership experience preferably with both new and used vehicle departments and dealership experience in roles like General or Sales Manager.
- Strong coaching communication and motivation abilities.
- Results-driven mindset: confident in closing deals setting expectations and holding the team accountable.
- Adaptability under pressureable to pivot as market and business demands evolve.
- High-level organizational skills including effective multitasking and a keen eye for detail.
- Familiarity with CRM DMS and sales reporting tools is a plus.
