Description
NPI is adding aField Service Technician IIto their Lifecycle Services team responsible for total equipment lifecycle management services that optimize the performance of OEM equipment. As a Field Service Technician you will be responsible for services that include installation start-up/commissioning preventive maintenance emergency repairs audits and training.
Lifecycle Services Technicians travel to customer sites to perform planned services troubleshoot issues make repairs recommend spare parts and provide upgrades/modernization.
** This is a full-time travel position (up to 50%) **
What Youll Be Doing:
- Quickly and efficiently resolve customer issues to maintain maximum uptime.
- Provide guidance solutions and training to less experienced field technicians.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance inspections and schedule service as needed.
- Install new equipment and perform upgrades in collaboration with support personnel.
- Manage parts inventory and on-site tools to ensure proper control of company assets.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction through cooperative and supportive communication.
- Review service updates bulletins schematics and installation/retrofit instructions; take recommended actions promptly.
- Stay technically current by attending continuing education courses in networking software and related areas.
- Respond to emergency and non-scheduled service calls within established response time goals.
- Continuously seek ways to improve service timeliness and quality.
- Understand customer processes and procedures including sort plans and IMB requirements.
- Be proficient in generating paperwork and dispatching products.
Qualifications
- Associate degreeor equivalent certificationin mechanical electrical maintenance or equipment repair ispreferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience with mechanical electrical pneumatic components and HMI systems.
- Proven field experience in diagnosing troubleshooting and repairing electronic and mechanical machine issues.
- DOS Windows UNIX Microsoft Office
- Experience with AB CompactLogix PLC and RSLogix500/5000 including minor program modifications and network troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret complex technical information including schematics.
- Familiarity with VFD parameter configuration and servo drive/motor setups.
- Valid drivers license and eligibility for a US passport.
Additional Duties:
- Conduct field service calls for installation commissioning emergency repair preventive maintenance audits retrofits and training.
- Perform mechanical and electrical modifications including PLC and servo drive configurations.
- Lead site visit meetings and training sessions to ensure customer understanding of equipment operation and maintenance.
- Achieve service delivery goals including response time first-time fix rate and customer satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with field service management and internal support teams.
- Provide reliability feedback to quality engineering and collaborate on improvements.
- Adhere to industry company and customer safety practices.
- Complete all paperwork timesheets CRM/service ticket entries and expenses promptly and accurately.
- Occasionally perform technical support or final assurance duties at Lifecycle Services headquarters.
Typical Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day. The employee is frequently required to grasp handle and feel objects control and manage tools and use hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk stoop kneel and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but at times loud. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
