The Newsletter Coordinator for the Cinematic Arts Dept. is responsible for assembling all announcements for the Lowry Studios newsletter which goes out once every two this role the student will collaborate with faculty and department staff to determine what announcements should be included write or clarify copy and find imagery to include with the announcement as needed. The student may be asked to assist with other design or creative projects. This position is ideal for students with a foundation in graphic design digital media or cinematic arts and offers a unique opportunity to develop both technical and creative skills in a professional setting.

JOB DUTIES

  • Collaborate with department faculty instructors & staff to ensure accurate and timely postings of events and other opportunities for students.
  • Collect manage and organize content for newsletters.
  • Write copy and find or create visuals for announcements as needed.
  • Develop workflow for ongoing collection review and approvals of newsletter content.
  • Maintain organize and update newsletter asset library.
  • Confirm accuracy of information prior to posting.
  • Keep track of end dates and remove announcements when appropriate.
  • Work with college team to ensure content is received on time.
  • Work on creative projects related to the departments promotional needs or ongoing events.
  • Collaborate with Social Media & Student Government team and provide content as needed.
  • Assist the Department Staff with additional operational duties as assigned.
  • Take responsibility for timesheet time off tracking hours and making adjustments in the schedule as per work study allotment communicating schedule changes in advance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to develop and implement work plans
  • Strong sense of responsibility reliability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a quiet setting communicate effectively and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google applications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude
  • Willingness to ask for help and problem solve
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Enrolled in at least one Cinematic Arts class (FVM prefix).
    • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop Illustrator InDesign etc.) and/or other softwares for video and media editing.
    • Creativity and interest in assisting with visual design and content creation for promotional materials.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have completed FAFSA on file
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum six (6) credit hours
  • Must NOT have yet obtained 1st Bachelors Degree
  • Must be seeking an eligible program of study
