Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria Virginia and Orlando Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning design infrastructure management technical consulting engineering and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army Air Force Navy Marine Corps) missions along with other US federal agencies all over the world.
The Cyber/IT Specialist is responsible for supporting cybersecurity assessments of both ICT (Information and Communications Technology) and OT (Operational Technology) systems at project sites. This role involves conducting system configuration reviews vulnerability scans and penetration testing to identify potential risks.
This is a nationwide project and we need someone who is willing to travel and take on assignments at various project sites across the country.
This position is contingent upon the award of the contract
Key Responsibilities:
Perform cybersecurity assessments on the ICT and OT systems at project sites to identify vulnerabilities.
Perform system configuration audits conduct vulnerability assessments and support penetration testing activities
Contribute to the formal Cybersecurity Assessment and Gap Analysis Report (CDRL A018) by providing detailed accurate and actionable insights to inform stakeholders and guide remediation efforts
Help implement cybersecurity controls and recommendations ensuring they align with the guidelines in the Cybersecurity Standards and Best Practices Report (CDRL A016)
Liaise with on-site personnel to acquire technical data and review system architecture compliance
Support the enforcement of secure hardware/software configurations and oversee compliance with DFARS and CMMC Level 2 standards
Contribute technical expertise to the development of training materials ensuring accuracy and relevance of cybersecurity content and assist in delivering cybersecurity training sessions through presentations hands-on exercises and knowledge-sharing with participants.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
Bachelors degree in information technology Computer Engineering or a related field; a Masters degree or relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA Network Security CISSP) is a plus.
Over 10 years of professional experience in IT systems support network infrastructure or cybersecurity with demonstrated expertise in system administration troubleshooting and technical operations.
Familiarity with Operational Technology (OT) systems such as radar radio AIS and surveillance equipment including their integration with IT networks.
Strong working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements including NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2 with experience implementing security controls and conducting risk assessments.
Hands-on experience supporting facility-based IT systems including servers network devices and endpoint equipment and conducting detailed technical assessments to identify gaps and recommend solutions.
Proficiency in secure network configuration system hardening and the implementation of cybersecurity best practices.
Effective communication and documentation skills to prepare technical reports training materials and recommendations for system improvements.
