QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Masters degree in Psychiatric Rehabilitation Social Work Psychology Psychotherapy Education (educators must have at least 5 years of experience working with at risk children in a recognized and proven alternative program for students with special academic and social needs) or a Certified Licensed Counselor. A Board Certified Master of Social Work (at least 3 years of field experience in a related area required) is preferred.
- Work experience in a group home orphanage foster care homeless shelter transitional shelter half-way houses residential rehabilitation or housing experience is a plus.
JOB DUTIES
- Responds to student(s) McKinney-Vento (Homeless) and Migrant referrals and needs in a timely manner
- Performs school visits to monitor academic progress behavior progress and attendance
- Documents and follows up on assigned cases in a timely manner to ensure services are in place
- Networks/Collaborates with community resource agencies regarding housing utility assistance child care medical and mental needs
- Establishes ongoing rapport with clients to assist them as appropriate in maintaining living arrangements
