Responsibilities
- Oversee/ manage/ coach parts departments for all Fields dealerships.
- Work with management teams to help provide best in class experiences for customers and employees.
- Inventory Management
- Help dealerships prep for inventories.
- Audit and review inventory results ensure inventory and accounting numbers are accurate. Investigate variances/discrepancies.
- Work with parts managers to develop recommendations for write off/write down parts.
- Review inventory $$ levels.
- Review/ assist in minimizing obsolescence.
- Monitor turn rates make recommendations as needed.
- Action plan and assist like branded dealers with aged parts between stores.
- Reporting
- Review/audit parts Gross Profit percentages monthly and make recommendations/changes as needed.
- Monitor/report/action plan OEM parts bonus programs.
- Monitor aged SOPs assist in action planning to correct.
- SOPs w/o appointment.
- Review monthly parts recons and investigate/ correct variances.
- Obsolescence.
- Inventory values and identify good and bad trends.
- Open counter tickets.
- Sales and Marketing
- Assist in developing and implementing sales strategies.
- Assist with parts and service marketing/promotions.
- Personnel
- Assist GMs with developing pay plans for parts personnel.
- Assist in hiring/training/developing parts personnel.
- Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement strategies to improve parts operations.
- Facilitate growth.
- Assist the company in achieving both short- and long-term goals.
- Assist with department forecasts.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in a managerial role within the automotive industry.
- Must have extensive experience with CDK
- Familiarity with inventory management software.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to interpret and analyze sales and performance data.
- Excellent communication organizational and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of automotive parts and products including both original equipment and aftermarket options
