Litigation Paralegal / Legal Administrative Assistant Vancouver BC
Location: Downtown Vancouver
Salary: $72000 - $85000

Our client is a boutique law firm specializing in construction law strata property law environmental law and employment law. They are committed to providing high-quality legal services in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

About the Position
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal / Legal Administrative Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing document production and providing administrative support for complex multi-party construction litigation files. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a firm that values excellence organization and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee document production for complex multi-party construction litigation files including coding and listing client documents exporting load files importing documents produced by other parties and providing training to lawyers and staff as needed.
  • Open and close legal files in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Diarize critical deadlines and ensure they are met without exception.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients opposing counsel court staff and other staff.
  • Draft and review correspondence pleadings and other legal documents with precision and clarity.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical files to ensure accessibility and confidentiality.
  • Provide additional support for assigned lawyers including scheduling appointments preparing court documents and assisting with mediation and trial preparation.

  • Initiative: Proactive problem-solving and anticipation of next steps to move files forward.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous drafting and review of correspondence and documents.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Professional written and verbal interaction with clients colleagues and opposing counsel.
  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable handling multiple assignments and deadlines with poise.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook Word Excel Adobe and legal software such as Worldox Soluno or PCLaw and IPro Eclipse or similar programs.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal certificate from a recognized program with 3 years of relevant experience; or
  • Legal Assistant diploma with 4 years of experience in a litigation setting.
  • Experience managing complex litigation files particularly in construction law is an asset
