Job Description
Job Title: Chemistry Medical Technologist
Job Location: Carbondale IL
Job Type: Contract
Job Description:
- Operate calibrate and maintain automated chemistry analyzers and lab equipment (e.g. Beckman Coulter Roche Siemens).
- Validate and interpret test results ensuring precision and accuracy; take corrective action when necessary.
- Process label and store specimens according to lab protocols and CLIA CAP and HIPAA regulations.
- Perform quality control (QC) quality assurance (QA) and participate in proficiency testing programs.
- Document all activities in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and ensure accurate data entry.
- Maintain lab inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians nurses and other health care professionals to provide timely and relevant diagnostic information.
- Assist in training new staff or students and help implement new lab protocols and technologies.
