BiddefordSchoolsareseeking:Special Education Board- Behavior InterventionistTo provide consistent expertise in the area of behavioral management for special education students. To provide consultation to all teachers in the behavioral needs of students. To assist in the development of a systematic approach to behavioral Job Duties:Special Education Behavior Interventionist to work under the supervision of the district BCBA IEP coordinators and Special Education Director to provide support to teachers and students who may be struggling with challenging behaviors. The ideal candidate would be one who has received coursework/training in the principles involved in behavior change and/or someone looking to pursue their certification to become a BCaBA or BCBA. Clinical supervision is ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher and assist in drill andpractice in required workshops at the request of the Building Leader Supervisor or non-instructional non-evaluating functions including suspension of in the preparation of instructional materials or provide classroom management functions during emergency drillsassemblies play periods the teacher to any problem or special information about an individual Job DescriptionCertification/License:Certification as an Education Technician III from the Maine Department of Education -OR-Special Education Teacher-OR-School Psychologist. - OR-Current License as Board Certified Behavior Analyst or completed all coursework and eligible to take the license exam -OR-Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of EducationEducation:Bachelors Degree Experience:Knowledge and Experience developing evidence-based programming for students with low-incidence in developing and implementing behavioral interventions and behavior plansExperience with Applied Behavior AnalysisLive and Work in the Biddeford Maine CommunityLocated along the Atlantic coastline with miles of beachesViews of the Saco River to its westLess than 20 minutes south of the Greater Portland AreaLess than two hours north of to a growing population of diverse residentsPicturesque downtownMaines youngest city with a median age of 29 in the historic downtownThriving economyMany recreational opportunities including fishing hiking biking public parks and kayakingEqual OpportunityThe School Department is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
