Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Indirect Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing existing and future global VAT compliance obligations for Aston Martin Lagonda Limited together with supporting the group with projects from an indirect tax perspective.

Additionally the Indirect Tax Manager will support the business in developing implementing and monitoring the operation of indirect tax focussed policies and procedures.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of global VAT returns for Aston Martin Lagonda Limited within the necessary deadlines.
  • Prepare responses to VAT enquiries issued by global tax authorities and ensure provided within the required deadlines.
  • Establish internal reputation as point person for supporting with day-to-day business operational queries from an indirect tax perspective.
  • Support Senior Group Tax Manager with E-invoicing requirements.
  • Support Senior Group Tax Manager with Making Tax Digital process improvements (using Alteryx) for UK VAT reporting purposes.
  • Lead on the operation and creation of indirect tax governance policies and procedures.
  • Lead relationship with VATIT (external VAT recovery agents supporting the business with EU 13th Directive VAT reclaims).

Qualification & Experience:

  • Accounting (ACCA / ACA) and / or chartered tax (CTA) qualified
  • Significant indirect tax experience within a large accountancy practice and / or large corporate environment
  • In-depth indirect tax technical knowledge with an appetite for continued technical development (awareness of customs processes and procedures desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills with the ability to convey complex issues to senior stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with the ability to constructively challenge.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage several deliverables within strict deadlines.
  • Experience demonstrating proficiency of MS Office Applications with strong Excel skills.
