As the Category Manager with the Construction Architecture and Fixtures team you will be responsible for development of category and sourcing strategies sourcing execution negotiations and contracting activities across multiple categories across Best Buys real estate portfolio of properties (areas of spend). This is a high-impact position with responsibility to commercially manage and strategically source products and/or services within multiple categories with ranging complexities. The position will provide consistent exposure to Best Buy executives large strategic suppliers and highly complex agreements. The right candidate will have an opportunity to make an immediate impact with noticeable results. TheBest Buy Procurementorganization has undergone a significant transformation to become a strategic value generating business enabler.
This role is hybrid which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. What youll do
- Optimize the total cost of ownership and increase the total value derived from our facility related investments specific to non-merchandise goods and services acquired by Best Buy
- Understanding of how parent and child contractual agreements are structured including complex agreements that cover many products/services across many business owners
- Articulate industry specific knowledge with both industry experts as well as cross-functional partners who may not be well versed in the particulars
- Involved in negotiations resulting in up to $100 million of contractual obligations
- Create and execute a strategic vision with analytical thinking and problem solving focused on achieving functional and organizational goals
- Build and sustain an engaged diverse highly skilled team and oversee performance and development of multiple team members
- 5 or more years of experience in strategic sourcing or commensurate experience in related scope functions
- 3 or more years collaborating with and influencing executive and senior-level stakeholders / business partners
- 2 or more years of dedicated experience on complex agreements
- Direct experience handling contract negotiations ranging from $10-100M
- Bachelors Degree in Business or related field
- 4 years of experience in strategic sourcing or commensurate experience in related scope functions
- 3 years of project management experience
- 1 year of supervisory/people leadership coaching and employee development experience
- Excellent presentation skills
- Experience working within a matrix fortune 300 organization
