Job Summary:
Responsible for developing new business underwriting structuring and closing commercial loans which meet established lending requirements to provide maximum return with a minimum of risk. Develop business and community relationships to foster the growth of Wings Financials business member base.
Essential Functions:
- Source and develop relationships to grow commercial loan portfolio and educate prospective members of Wings commercial deposit and Treasury Management services.
- Interview loan applicants and analyze financial data to determine the creditworthiness of prospective borrowers.
- Collect and analyze member financial information with assistance of credit analyst in evaluating ongoing debt service capacity of the member for outstanding loans and new loan requests.
- Structure and approve loans up to individual lending authority and serve as contact officer on loans above this limit.
- Prepare and present new commercial loan requests and annual reviews to Chief Lending Officer and Business Loan Review Committee (BLRC) for approval.
- Review loan documentation and work with credit union personnel or outside attorneys to ensure loan documentation is prepared in accordance with loan approval.
- Meet with members periodically to discuss possible changes in business management financial trends or industry changes.
- Assist in collection of information for annual review preparation to support prudent loan portfolio management and ensuring compliance with NCUA guidelines.
- Work with Treasury Management personnel to establish full depository relationship with members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain full knowledge of all available credit union products and services.
- Cross-sell and make referrals to other credit union departments including private banking
- consumer loans home mortgages and investment services.
- Continuing education and networking throughout the year to gather knowledge of changing industry trends.
- Participate in community activities and civic organizations to increase Wings Financials community involvement visibility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferred
- 3 years of commercial banking experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in reading analyzing and interpreting financial reports and legal documents.
- Ability to communicate in all forms of correspondence and forums.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates understanding of and compliance with governing regulations and laws.
- Supports goals and objectives established by the board of directors and senior management.
