The Opportunity:

West Liberty University is seeking applications for a Guest Assistant Theater Director for the production of Its a Wonderful Life. This is a seasonal temporary position and will be paid a small stipend for supporting the efforts within the theater department. The Guest Assistant Theater Director will work with students to give them an opportunity to experience and develop their interests and skills in a various aspect of dramatic production.

Essential Functions of the position:

• Collaborating with thedirector to determine concept and approach.
• Provide student instruction and workshops in theater.
• Communicating with designers such as the set and costume designers to determine colors or moods for the project
• Assisting with the front of house during the run of the play
• Recruit students to join theater.
• Hold regular meetings auditions and rehearsals. Cast the production.
• Attending weekend work calls
• Communicate with parents staff and administration on schedule rehearsals and use of facilities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Knowledge of all aspects of a professional theatrical program.
• Knowledge of methods for teaching acting and the professional theater process.
