Senior Director of Clinical Services

100% travel and remote

Role is based in Texas for 6 Skilled Nursing Communities

The Role

To support the execution of ML Healthcares mission and core values by maintaining optimal balance of quality care customer service and financial performance within ML Healthcare communities. To support six communities in planning revising coordinating implementing and evaluating education needs inservices skills training of fellow community associates and the orientation of community nurse leaders.

Responsibilities

(Educator Regulatory Process Improvement and Customer Service)

  • Work cooperatively with the Administrator Director of Nursing Services and community in assessing and assisting in training/education needs. Plans programs to meet these quality of care resident needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborates with community Administrator HR department and DON to ensure nursing tracking log for education/in-services and orientation checklist are maintained and followed according to company license and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts Nurse Leader specific orientation on processes/systems pathways post basic onboarding orientation and is continues in-service/education as necessary utilizing company orientation expectation guidelines based upon job role & responsibilities of the associate.
  • Evaluates education and training in coordination with the SVP of Clinical Operations to develop and/or modify programs that maintain and enhance nursing clinical skills and system pathways.
  • Supports the DON of the communities in providing skill training to any nursing team members that are deficient in any skill area.
  • Responsible to provide hands on care oversight to nursing team members. Coaching and teaching in the community and at bedside where appropriate.
  • Responsible to be knowledgeable about skill needs of the community and adjust in-service training to meet those needs
  • Collaborates with the SVP of Clinical Operations & Sr. Dir. of Clinical Reimbursement in identifying training/in-service needs for each community and participates in the development of training interventions to resolve problems/issues of clinical IDT departments.
  • Participates in nursing team member hiring process of DONs ADON RN Supervisor and other nurse leaders. to include responsibilities for recruitment interviewing and selection of these positions in collaboration with the Administrator and Director of Nursing of the community
  • Coordinates with outside providers as resources for clinical education of community nursing team member in-services Collaborates with the SVP of Clinical Operations in the follow up with communities Administrator DON nursing team regarding any updates or new requirements as needed from state and federal regulatory agencies CDC DSH or the State Board of Nursing.
  • Schedules & leads Mock Survey Teams
  • Supports the clinical infrastructure of the community involved in Clinical Start Up process on software changes or new acquisitions. Looking for a PCC Superuser

Work Conditions

  • This position primarily involves standing walking twisting reaching bending/stooping pushing and pulling (typical weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 15 lbs. approximately) and lifting (minimum weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 25 lbs. approximately)
  • The position requires repetitive finger movements as well as hearing and talking on the phone and in person.
  • Must be able to continuously deal effectively with stress created by residents staff multiple tasks noises interruptions and work cooperatively as part of the health care team while maintaining a pleasant attitude.
  • Must function independently have flexibility personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with residents staff and support agencies/vendors.
  • Must be able to assist in evacuations of communities if needed.
  • Must be able to travel weekly to communities

Must Haves

  • Must prior experience in a regional nurse role in long term care
  • Must have a current and valid Texas RN nursing license or eligible to obtain a Texas RN license.
  • Experience in long term care along with strong computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of PCC (Super user a plus!)
  • Ability to travel every week or as needed to the communities as deemed necessary
  • At least three (3) years as a Director of Nursing in Skilled Nursing Community in Texas progressive management or supervisory experience in long-term care acute care restorative or geriatric nursing.
  • Ability to teach and train staff and leadership on infection control regulatory compliance and customer service standards.
