DescriptionKing George V School is looking for a person to lead on the conduct of all examinations and manage the Examinations & Data Team. To take responsibility for all aspects of student data management developing and maintaining database and data analysis systems both to enable teaching & learning and to support administrative processes. To act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for information management and data analysis advising and supporting the Schools Executive Management in evaluation.
Responsibilities
Exams Team Leadership:
- Full line-management responsibilities including performance management coaching development and training of the Examinations Office and Data Team
- To ensureall aspects ofstudent examinations (external and internal) are effectively administered and conducted
- To validate all exam procedures and enforce compliance with regulations for exam conduct data and document handling records and financial management
- Responsible for the oversight of all exam communicationswithstakeholders students parentsteachers andtheexaminationboards
- Responsible for ensuring effective distribution of results subsequent analysis and the production of management information reports
Data Management and Analysis:
- To maintain the organizations database across multiple platforms and computing environments ensuring data integrity is maintained
- To apply understanding of relational database concepts and query languages in order to design required summary or aggregation tables to support analyses
- To collaborate with technology/ infrastructure staff to identify data relationships and functional requirements to analyze and resolve issues related to information flow and content
- To maintain database support tools database tables and dictionaries recovery and backup procedures
- To perform data modelling studies (e.g. timetabling ARR student academic data option choices staffing) maintain data model and entity relationship diagrams and work closely with senior leadership to develop and improve school systems & options to enhance learning
- To develop and enhance systems actively to meet evolving School needs
- To provide staff training on school based applications
- To act as a key advisor on ICT and data issues contributing to the schoolwide agenda on the formative use of data in learning and championing the KGV Data Analysis System
Timetable Planning and Management
- To create the whole school timetable with rooming and staffing solutions
- To work with School Leadership to make decisions on class numbers sizes options; refining the plan to maximize the number of student first choice allocations.
- To provide expert advice and propose coherent options to help make management decisions (e.g. for option choices class sizes staff numbers and staff utilization)
- To communicate to staff including liaising with parents and students as to freedoms and constraints for timetabling and options
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in database management and analysis
- Experience of leading teams of people and engaging with senior leadership
- Experience in examination systems and education preferred.
Abilities
- Fluent in oral and written English
- Logical; problem solver; ability to prioritize and able to handle complex tasks
- Able to produce written and statistical reports to the highest quality
- Expert in MS Office applications including Excel Access Word and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Attentive to detail and able to follow up work diligently
- Well organized and able to multi-task meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Advanced analytical and decision support skills
Knowledge
- Good SQL programming skills required / other languages a plus
- PHP MYSQL Excel Web design (HTML)
- School timetabling
- Databases
- Excellent PC skills (Word Excel and database software) to be able to perform data mining reports and create statistical reports of the highest quality

Required Experience:
Manager
