Manager Communications and Public Relations (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 533865) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a good bachelors degree with about 8 years full-time work experience in communications public relations marketing or a related field. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English; outstanding communication writing organisational project management and problem-solving skills; a high level of computer literacy; and the ability to multitask under pressure work well both independently and in a team as well as work with people from a broad range of backgrounds internally and externally.
The appointee will support the Facultys Communications and Public Relations Team in planning developing and implementing corporate communications strategies for brand promotion. Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
developing and implementing strategic PR campaigns to promote the organisations brand and mission;
developing story angles and key messages writing and editing press releases articles speeches eDMs presentations booklets videos and blog posts;
generating website content and multimedia posts as well as other written materials for various social media platforms to engage target audiences ensuring clarity consistency and accuracy in English;
cultivating and maintaining relationships with media outlets journalists and influencers to secure positive coverage as well asserving as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and interview requests;
monitoring and analysing media coverage and PR metrics to track the effectiveness of PR initiatives;
monitoring industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for proactive PR efforts;
planning and implementing a variety of corporate and PR events including summits ceremonies seminars workshops press conferences guest visits partnership development events and other activities;
supporting event management including organization communication logistics on-site assistance handling inquiries and other coordination work required by event teams; and
undertaking any other duties assigned by the Faculty Office.
