As a Forensic Apprentice within the West Midlands Police Forensic Services Department the post holder will support the objectives of the Forensic Services Department (FSD) and drive them towards excellence within the field of forensic evidence recovery. This will be done by ensuring all preparatory work is completed to enable relevant FSD Technical Practitioners to complete their examinations and interpretations and maintaining a top quality working environment for all laboratory areas.
The Forensic Apprentice will work predominantly within the Fingerprint Development Laboratory but will support other West Midlands Police Forensic Services Departments with a variety of administration duties.

Hours:Mon Fri 9am to 5pm (start/finish times can be flexible but will depend on workload)
Location: Ridgepoint House Birmingham.
Vetting: Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter Terrorism Clearancescrutiny prior to commencing their role this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.
Medical: Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.
