Description

Senior Associate Director of Accreditation and Curricular Assessment (SADAC) reports to the Director and serves on the School of PA Executive Council School College and University committees. The SADAC is responsible for the coordination and administrative management of the Programs ongoing programmatic self-assessment to ensure that accreditation state and national standards and competencies have been successfully integrated and evaluated. The SADAC assists the School Director in identifying potential areas for improvement leads School ongoing programmatic assessment self-study planning and preparation of accreditation related documents.

In addition the SADAC serves as a member of the Executive Committee and Directors Meeting monthly.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Serve on Schools Executive Committee (EC) and Directors Meeting to discuss the operation of the School and development of policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance and supervision in coordination with the Program Director for programmatic self-assessment to ensure that accreditation state and national standards and competencies have been successfully integrated and evaluated.
  • Co-Chair the Data Analytics Committee and the ARC-PA Compliance Committee of the Executive Council to provide guidance in the implementation of the committees duties and plans
  • Serve on the Curriculum Committee and Didactic Subcommittee of the Curriculum Committee
  • Collaborate with the Senior Associate Director of Academic Education the Associate Director of Clinical Education and the Associate Director of Academic Assessment and Achievement for the monitoring of student academic progression evaluation of overall academic student performance and monitoring of student remediation attrition and other data related to curricular assessment
  • Assist faculty staff and students in understanding policies and procedures related to accreditation program self-assessment and programmatic self-study assessment
  • Actively participate in the admissions process including interview selection interviewing recommendations admissions notification matriculation and orientation
  • Attend appropriate meetings sponsored by state and national physician assistant professional organizations to promote the School of Physician Assistant Studies
  • Attend continuing education offerings and workshops to maintain clinical competency and knowledge of current best practices within the profession

Teaching Responsibilities

Faculty teaching responsibilities are varied and will differ based upon the individual phases of the curriculum. Specific Module assignments will be given by the School Director.

Module leader for: Intro to Clinical Medicine Hematology & Oncology Neurology

Co Module Lead for: Genitourinary & Sexual Health

  • Prepare syllabi with goals objectives and learning outcomes
  • Prepare assigned lectures using applicable technology
  • Develop course platform on Moodle
  • Review evaluate and develop appropriate assessment tools
  • Participate in text selection or other teaching modalities
  • Assess student progress in course prepare and submit final grades communicate with students faculty advisors
  • Critique student assignments and provide prompt feedback
  • Participate in student assessment reassessment and remediation
  • Assist with student tutorial/remediation sessions

Advising

Meet formally with assigned students in each cohort to:

  • Review student academic and professional performance
  • Assess students readiness for the next phase of the program
  • Provide opportunity for the student to discuss their own progress
  • Provide opportunity for the student to clarify/express concerns/verbalize positive aspects of the program and the students role in it
  • Meet with any student who has performed unsatisfactorily either academically or professionally
  • Monitor the students progress
  • Maintain complete and up to date records on student and student interactions
  • Discuss any student issues regarding successful progression throughout the Program with the Student Progression Committee and the Executive Council

Service:

  • Co-Chair the Data Analytics Committee and the ARC-PA Compliance Committee
  • Serve on the Curriculum Committee and the Didactic Subcommittee of the Curriculum Committee
  • Attend and contribute to faculty school college and university meetings
  • Participate in the development revision and updating of curricular materials
  • Assume other duties within the School when needed and feasible
  • Serve as elected or appointed representative in University State and National committees/activities

Scholarship:

  • Engage in scholarly activityin area of interest and in accordance with University Faculty and Governance Handbook

Perform other tasks as assigned by the School Director and agreed upon in accordance with the University Faculty and Governance Handbook

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Physician Assistant MD DO FNP and PhD or PharmD (for selected positions); Clinicians must eligible for license in Oregon-obtaining active license within 90 days of hire.
  • Masters degree or higher.
  • Minimum of three years clinical experience (>5 preferred) as a practicing clinician actively involved in patient care.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in academia (Physician Associate accreditation and relevance to student assessment is preferred)
  • Adept interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills. Engages in open collaborative and collegial interactions with others.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills with ability to motivate students to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed to fulfill program duties.
  • Excellent computer skills and advanced operation knowledge of word processing and data management programs such as Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated experience or training in student affairs and/or support of student academic success
  • Prior service to community or Physician Assistant profession
  • Demonstrated strong contextual understanding of Physician Assistant profession
  • Demonstrated excellent teaching skills
  • Highly organized strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
